What is a Groningen eierbal?
An eierbal consists of a boiled egg surrounded by seasoned ragout and breadcrumbs, then fried. Recipes vary between makers; that variation is part of the Groningen eierbal tradition. Want to know more? Read what an eierbal is.
Is the eierbal UNESCO heritage?
No. Since March 2017, the Groningen eierbal tradition has been included in the Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Netherlands. This is a Dutch heritage inventory and is not the same as a UNESCO listing. Read more on our history page.
How are the eierballen delivered?
Our tray contains 6 fresh, unfried eierballen. They are packed chilled and shipped within the Netherlands. Refrigerate the package as soon as possible after delivery.
How long do they keep?
The average shelf life is 7–14 days. Keep them refrigerated between 0 and 5 °C and always follow the use-by date and information on the packaging. For all storage information, see storing eierballen and shelf life.
Do I get a discount when ordering several trays?
Yes. From 6 trays, the price is automatically €14.50 per tray instead of €14.95. No discount code is required.
When is shipping free?
Shipping is free on orders of €50 or more within the Netherlands.
Are the eierballen vegetarian?
Yes, these eierballen are vegetarian. If you have allergies, always check the full ingredient and allergen information on the product page and packaging.
